Types of konjac sponges

Konjac sponges come in several different varieties targeted for several different skin types. Here is how you can tell at a glance based on the colour.

A black or grey konjac facial sponge is likely infused with charcoal. This is targeted for those with acne as the activated charcoal helps draw out and remove impurities.

A pink konjac sponge has been infused with pink clay. This is ideal for mature, tired, devitalised and sun-burnt/exposed skin as pink clay promotes cell renewal and is mineral rich allowing it to nourish the skin.

A green konjac sponge is infused with green clay due to its ability to absorb oilsfrom the skin.  It is targeted for oily and combination skin.

White konjac sponges do not usually have any other extra added ingredients. They are your standard pure konjac sponge.

It is important not to have unrealistic expectations. A konjac sponge won’t immediately heal all your acne and instantly give you amazing glowing skin as if you have been keeping up with an extensive facial care routine or just had a peel. What it is however is a gentle effective exfoliating and cleansing sponge that helps balance the pH of your skin, leaving it looking healthier and brighter. Keeping up with a facial care routine over time will give you the glowing skin you are after and a konjac sponge can play a key part in this.
